Comparison of Preauricular Approach Versus Retromandibular Approach in Management of Condylar Fractures

Objectives: Surgical treatment of patients with multiple mandibular fractures involving condylar segments may be a difficult proposition for maxillofacial surgeon. These can double or triple the lower mandible and also associated other face. While many authors have suggested that conventional approach to reducing stabilizing symphysis / para-symphysis fracture is appropriate before addressing fractured condyle, there another school thought suggests segment should reduced repaired first. This article aims review results operations where reduction fixation condyle performed prior fractures, explore effectiveness various surgical methods including preauricular retromandibular proposed in this case. Place Duration: In Oral Maxillofacial surgery department Faryal Dental College, Lahore two-years duration from Jan 2018 2020.
